Emergency Energy Fund
The Emergency Energy Fund assists people of limited resources with utility bills. This provides services at no charge or fee to clients.
First Call for Help, Inc.
First Call for Help is a catalyst in the delivery and use of community and county services. As a community information center, First Call minimizes duplication, coordinates needed services, locates available resources in Reno County and keeps accurate records. United Way of Reno County supports the following programs: personal hygiene program, medical assistance program and operation back to school.
Food Bank of Reno County
Food Bank of Reno County provides food for people on an emergency basis, make an appointment through the Salvation Army.
Helping Hands Fund
Helping Hands Fund is funded by United Way of Reno County and is specifically used by agencies to fund emergency rent assistance, utilities assistance, and life-sustaining medication assistance.
Interfaith Housing Services
Interfaith Housing Services, a faith-based organization not affiliated with any religion, is a coming together of all denominations, civic organizations, social groups, businesses, and individuals who help meet the needs of our community.
United Way provides support for the following programs: Special Needs Rentals, Homeowner Repair & Rehab., CA$H, and Financial Education.
New Beginnings
New Beginnings, Inc. operates an emergency & transitional housing for homeless and provides affordable housing.
United Way provides support for the following programs: Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing and Housing Services.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army provides immediate emergency services which sustain a normalcy of life. These services include: food, clothing, shelter, medications, energy assistance, funeral assistance, furniture, and counseling. We also provide a safe place for people to take care of their personal hygiene by providing soap, towels and a place to take a needed shower. We have weekly character building youth activites, and a Monday thru Friday After School Program. We also have a payee program where we manage the financial affairs of 120 people.
