Who is United Way of Reno County?

United Way of Reno County is a nonprofit organization that provides critical resources to a large network of local nonprofit organizations.  UKaren Graber, Volunteernited Way actively seeks understanding of the community's most crucial needs and partners with approved agencies/programs for the most efficient delivery of human need and health services.  Approved partner agencies must have a proven track record of improving life which translates into improving community conditions at a reasonable cost.

What We Stand For

United Way stands for long-lasting community changes, not quick "band-aid" fixes.

Advancing the Common Good.
United Way works to Advance the Common Good by creating opportunities for a good life.  It's less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us.  It's the idea that we are all connected and interdependent; the idea that we all win when a child succeeds at school, when families are financially stable, and people are healthy.

We believe there are three basic elements that significantly contribute to a good life:
  • Education - it takes a quality education to get a stable job
  • Income - enough income to support a family through retirement
  • Health - good health because without it the first two are far less likely to occur

These are United Way of Reno County's focus areas.
