Boys & Girls Club
Boys & Girls Club headquartered at Shadduck Park 600 W. 2nd, provides a safe, fun, educational environment during out of school hours. Kids After School is designed for parents/caregivers who work and need after school care for their children. After school programs offered at Ave A, and McCandless schools & at Shadduck Park. Cancer Council of Reno County
To provide service to individuals and families affected by cancer and to provide education about prevention and treatment of cancer to the general public. To promote cancer education in Reno County by expanding and developing public education, professional education programs and Dr. Waddle color books for children. To coordinate, facilitate and reimburse necessary travel to and from treatment centers for Reno County residents. To provide limited reimbursement for medical expenses such as medication, equipment and nutritional supplements. (Not to include treatment cost or physicians' fees.) To assist patients in obtaining necessary medical equipment through an equipment loan program.

Children's Emergency Shelter is a safe, temporary respite home for children ages 0 - 13 who've been removed from their homes due to abuse or gross neglect.
Circles of Hope
Circles of Hope centers on low income families who often lack not only financial advantages, but a circle of social assets to guide them. Circles of Hope engages our community to equip families to permanently leave poverty through empowering relationships that build resources and address community-wide barriers. Their mission is to end poverty through empowering circles of relationship and to work together as a community to remove barriers that keep people trapped in poverty. United Way supports the following Circles programs: Trinity United Methodist and Ave A Elementary sites.
Dolly Parton Imagination Library
The Imagination Library provides free, high quality, age-appropriate books to any child age 0 to 5 living in Reno County every month. The goal is to help foster a love of reading among preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month and to ultimately prepare more kids for kindergarten. Enrollment is open to any child living in Reno County age 0 to 5. Girl Scouts Heartland Kansas
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Their program centers on something called the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a collection of activities and experiences to earn badges, sell cookies, go on exciting trips, explore the outdoors, do Take Action projects that make a difference, and more. They help girls discover their inner strengths and where they fit in the world by addressing issues of self-confidence, healthy media consumption, and how to cope with peer pressure. Hospice of Reno County
When a patient is diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, hospice care can offer enhanced comfort and promote higher physical functioning and a greater sense of well being during the final months and days of life. The focus during this phase is gentle care and maximum comfort. Hospice provides: pain and symptom management emotional and spiritual counseling bereavment services medications, equipment and supplies related to terminal diagnosis restorative and alternative therapies volunteer assistance Hospice of Reno County also offers the Hospice House which is an alternative setting for end of life care. Kansas Legal Services, Inc.
Kansas Legal Services, a statewide non-profit organization, is dedicated to helping low income Kansans meet their basic needs through the provision of essential legal and mediation services. United Way provides support for the following programs: Social Security Advocacy and General Legal Services.
Meals on Wheels
Hutchinson Meals on Wheels provide hot, well-balanced meals for the homebound 5 days a week. United Way provides support for the following programs: Meals on Wheels.
A Neighborhood Center is a place with a focus on children, families and advancing the common good for all in that neighborhood. It requires a set of partnerships between the School and other community resources. Resources are provided, through the center, to students and families to empower and support parents in the education of their children while also addressing issues that might get in the way of the child’s success. The Neighborhood Center is located in Ave A Elementary School.
New Beginnings, Inc. operates an emergency & transitional housing for homeless and provides affordable housing. United Way provides support for the following programs: Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing and Housing Services.
Personal Safety Awareness Program
Personal Safety Awareness Program teaches children how to avoid becoming victims of sexual assault. This is a project of Horizons Mental Health Center. United Way provides support for the following programs: the Personal Safety Awareness Programs.
Bright House (Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Center)
Provides confidential, non-judgmental support and shelter to anyone who has been affected by domestic violence or sexual assault. United Way provides support for the following programs: Crisis Services, Community Awareness, Child Visitation & Exchange Center, and Advocacy Services.
Special Populations Program

The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army provides immediate emergency services which sustain a normalcy of life. These services include: food, clothing, shelter, medications, energy assistance, funeral assistance, furniture, and counseling. We also provide a safe place for people to take care of their personal hygiene by providing soap, towels and a place to take a needed shower. We have weekly character building youth activities, and a Monday through Friday After School Program. We also have a payee program where we manage the financial affairs of 120 people.

The Volunteer Center
The Volunteer Center strengthens non-profit organizations by recruiting, referring and supporting volunteers for the betterment of the community. In addition to matching the time and talents of individuals willing to serve with organizations in need of volunteer help, the Center provides technical support on volunteer managment issues. United Cerebral Palsy of Kansas
Helps people with cerebral palsy and similar disabilities, provides a variety of services in Reno County such as; recreation, specialized equipment, consulting services, and information and referral services. Visions of Hope (CASA)
Visions of Hope, Inc. provides programs to ensure that children who come in contact with the juvenile court system have the right to safe, loving and nurturing homes. United Way provides support for the following programs: Court Supported Special Advocates (CASA) and Citizens Review Board (CRB).
YMCA provides quality youth and family programs which enhance human and community growth and development, scholarships available. Includes gymnastics, swimming, childcare. United Way provides support for the following programs: Membership Financial Assistance and Youth Sports Programs.
Reno County VOAD
The mission of the VOAD is to meet the need for ongoing coordination in Reno County providing volunteer, financial, spiritual, physical and/or psychological support for people whose lives have been affected by a disaster in our community. The VOAD is made up of community organizations including the United Way, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Volunteer Center, Local city and county government as well as local faith based organizations.
