Services

In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. We connect girls to leaders in science, technology, engineering and math. In fact, the first badge in aeronautics and circuitry was offered to Girl Scouts in 1913. We teach girls money management, inventory control, sales skills, and goal setting through our most recognizable activity: the Girl Scout Cookie Sale. We help girls discover their inner strengths and where they fit in the world by addressing issues of self-confidence, healthy media consumption, and how to cope with peer pressure. In study after study, girls tell us that they want to make a difference in this complex world by becoming change agents, advocates, and leaders within their community. Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland serves over 16,000 girls and adults in 80 Kansas counties through its operational headquarters in Wichita, Kan., and regional offices in Emporia, Garden City, Hays, and Salina. From our willingness to tackle important societal issues, to our commitment to diversity and inclusivenessGirl Scouts is dedicated to every girl, everywhere. We are committed to making the experience of leadership available to every girl who wants to participate.
