Give a Saturday and make a difference!
Volunteering your valuable time is one of the most impactful ways you can get involved with United Way of Reno County, and make a true difference for our community. United Way mobilized over 500 volunteers at 27 projects to improve homes and neighborhoods, schools, churches and other non-profit organizations in our community on the Community Work Day held the last Saturday in August.
The volunteers gave up a Saturday to really make an impact throughout our community. These volunteers painted five houses for Brush Up Hutch, cleaned up Carey Park, completed outdoor work at the Boys and Girls Club, repaired the playground at the Early Education Center, and worked at Hospice House to name just a few.
This diverse group of volunteers took a leadership role in our community by committing both time and talent for the common good. Groups represented were from KFSA, Bretz and Young Law, Kiwanis Club, Interfaith Housing Services, First National Bank, Zion Lutheran Church, APAC-Shears, Ks Kids Gear Up, CHS, Young Professionals, Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Trinity United Methodist Church, HMS Kids, Luminous Neon, Cargill, Superior Boiler Works, Grace Episcopal Church, New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Hutch Magnet School, Circles of Hope, HCC honor students, Hutchinson Correctional Facility, Data Center Inc, Hutchinson Noon Lions Club, First Presbyterian Church, Board of Realtors, Siemens, Horizons and Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball. Volunteering was not only good for the community but also a great team building activity for these groups and organizations. Give a pat on the back to these volunteer teams who provided a valuable service to those in need in our community. Want to see more great pictures from United Way Work Day?
