UWRC Hosts Inaugural "Champions of Change" Business Awards Ceremony
Hutchinson, Kansas – March 4, 2025
United Way of Reno County proudly hosted its first-ever Champions of Change: Business Awards Ceremony last week, honoring the businesses and organizations whose generosity and commitment are driving meaningful change locally.
The evening served as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when the community comes together. Dozens of local businesses were recognized for their outstanding support of United Way’s mission to create opportunities for every individual and family to thrive.
Among the honorees were the Top 25 Most Giving Companies, recognized for their total financial contributions throughout the year. These businesses set the standard for philanthropic leadership in Reno County and continue to make a substantial impact in the areas of youth opportunity, healthy community, financial security and community resiliency.
In addition, United Way celebrated 50+ businesses with employee participation rates of 40% or higher—a testament to the deep culture of giving and community commitment within their organizations.
Special recognition was also given to small businesses, including real estate offices, car dealerships, and restaurants, that made individual contributions through the #iPledge campaign. These gifts, represent a significant collective force for good and more than doubled in size over last year.
“We are incredibly inspired by the generosity of our business community,” said Lacey Mills, UWRC President and CEO. “Whether through corporate donations, individual employee pledges, or community give-back opportunities, every contribution plays a vital role in moving our community forward.”
As United Way of Reno County looks to the future, the organization remains committed to building on these partnerships and continuing its mission to ensure that every member of the community has the opportunity to succeed.
